Résumé: This document is a course material concerning the subject entitled Waste management and remediation of soil and groundwater, taught in the Department of Process Engineering at University of Boumerdes and intended for students in the second year of the Master's cycle in engineering and water management. The course describes the different types and sources of waste, the principles fundamental of waste management, the skills on how to manage wastes, as well as national and international policies and legislation relating to waste management. It also covers the various characteristics of soil and groundwater contamination due to poor waste management and its remediation using economical and sustainable technologies.
