Résumé: The spread of switched-mode power supplies for DC appliances to fulfill effectiveness and performance goals has been met with the growth of industry legislation and recommended practices for power quality assurance (e.g., IEC 61000-3-2). The generation of harmonic content induced by non-linear loads is an undesirable side effect to the conversion of electrical energy in the network which in turn lowers the power factor leading to greater power consumption and losses throughout the grid. In this project, an Active Power Factor Correction (PFC) circuit based on boost converter with its control system will be introduced, which is a relatively simple and low-cost circuit. The design and simulation of boost converter with Average Current Mode control in Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) will be presented in order to achieve a high switching frequency and power factor, with a low total harmonic distortion and high efficiency
