Résumé: The increasing demand for sustainable and reliable energy sources has led to the emergence of hybrid renewable energy systems as viable alternatives in standalone applications. This report presents a comprehensive study on the design, modeling, control, and simulation of a hybrid renewable energy system consisting of a pho-tovoltaic (PV) array integrated with a battery storage system and a backup diesel engine. A detailed matematical model is developed to capture the dynamic behav-ior of the PV array, battery storage system, and diesel engine, taking into account factors such as solar irradiance, battery state of charge, load demand, and diesel fuel consumption. The proposed control strategy utilizes a combination of power scheduling, load forecasting, and state-of-charge management techniques to ensure optimal operation and seamless transition between PV, battery, and diesel power sources, using Fuzzy Logic. The control algorithm is implemented and validated through simulation studies using advanced software tools, providing a realistic rep-resentation of the hybrid system’s performance under various operating conditions and load profiles.
